Happy Days in a Green Field

Happy Days in a Green Field touches on memories of running free in fields as a child both on summer holidays in the West of Ireland, and locally at home.

Those freedoms are not so readily accessed these days for many reasons. For me, the continual notion of running through remembered fields, reflects on the need to preserve what is important. The freshness of running in fields also touches on being in accordance with nature, as well as how we realise the relevance of fileds and land in relation to verdancy, vegetation and greeness. These are things explored within this body of work, where past experiences are relived within the present via the message in the work itself.
