Crossed the Skye Bridge on 26th August
9th September, 2015
After a nine and a half hour journey from Kings Cross to Inverness (due to somebody jumping on the line 25 miles north of Newcastle) and a stopover there that night, I finally crossed the Skye Bridge at around 3.15 on the 26th August. I have taken pictures from the Skye Bus front window where I was sitting. You can see these very soon as am still editing the photographs and writing the text to go with them, this is just a taster till the real Skye news page is edited and posted.
Skye takes your breath away, it is a magical and wonderful place. While I documented a long awaited journey from the train including the Drumochter Pass and the journey from the Skye Bus (just point and shoot on moving trains and coaches) there is too much to get it all in for at least two pages on the Skye news page for the 14th September the day my website goes live-after two years of solid hard work in the studio. Having waited so long to go to Skye, the Island deserves the respect of waiting a couple of days longer than the 14th to get it right. This also because I am going to a wedding in Devon and will be away for a couple of days. There are some tributes and thank you's for some people on Skye also.
This mystical island or misty isle as it is commonly called deserves time spent to show its geography and beauty.
In the meantime here are just three images that might make you want to log in and hear about my adventures on Skye. Later you will see the influence it will have on the next set of artwork including, I think, a dedicated collection of work pertinent to the island.
